Just came back from a concert

So yeah, I just came back from a great concert. It was Juan Carmona and his groupe playing.

The guy is a MONSTER. I think he has reached that level where it's humanly impossible to do better (technically speaking).

The singer was great, but the most impressive for me was the dancer. The man spread the fire all over the place...

One thing did bother me though. The third piece Juan played was a tangos. And it was just too similar to PDL's. Same melodic, rythmic ideas all over the place. Even in his taranta, there was this picado run, I had a doubt if it wasn't taken from PDL aswell.

But yeah, over all, a great show, and a great experience. We were all in trance with the musicians.

I hear he's doing a tour, not sure where, but I know he'll be in canada. So if you're not too far away, go check him out. Definatly worth it!

Oléé!

Hey Deniz. Unfortunatly, I didn't record anything. I was too busy being drawn in that particular univers they created yesterday.
Plus, I only had my cellphone, wich would've given out crappy video with even crappier audio.

The singer was Rafael Utrera, and the dancer Rafael de Carmen, one proud, classy man. (on scene anyway).

I can't wait to be in june, to see PDL in Brussel

Stu, you definitly should go, it's really a great experience.
I've been to vicente amigo's before, and although they have very different styles, the fact that there was a dancer added sooo much more to the feelings given from the music.
You just start clapping the buleria when you see the dancer going crazy!

Pimientito : Yes, and the owner of the concert hall presented himself before the groupe came on scene, explaining us how rare it was to have Juan in Paris (apparently, it was years before that he had last played here). His career is actually going boom, and I'm happy for him.

I was so happy to see all those people around me, paying to see flamenco. There were even a dozen in front the concert hall, with signs "BUYING TICKETS". We could have sold our tickets for double its price with my girl, but no way! I rarely meet people who give a damn or understand the beauty of flamenco, so I was in joy when other people in the public were going "Olé" and doing palmas. Magic experience I tell you!
