Spanish for "set up?"

Thanks for all the help on German vs European spruce. You got me straightened out. I now know Germany is in Europe.

Now: How about the Spanish for

"set up"

"low action"

"no buzz"

These aren't part of my vocabulary . . .

Translating is sometimes impossible. Thats why online translaters work the way they do. (bad)
I have a spanish degree from the university and I´ve worked translation. But english is only my 3rd language.

So short terms like the ones you want to know are extremely difficult to translate correctly. You often need the context. Besides English is a language with a lot of very precise nouns, whereas Spanish is more a language to express emotions.

Setup.
I general you use arreglo. But arreglo means a lot of things and can be used for many purposes. Comes from the verb arreglar, meaning "to fix"

Low action: Doesnt exist. Again, you can use arreglo. "un buen arreglo" but normally Spanish players just say the guitar "está cómoda" Meaning that its comfortable.

Buzz: is cerdear or trastear. So you say: Una guitarra que no trastéa ( cerdéa)

Thanks, Anders. Maybe the best thing is to ask for "easy to play" but "without buzz". Probably best to have a local luthier refine the setup anyway.

In the end setup is a personal thing.
A setup that works perfectly for you can buzz all over the place in another players hands.
The important thing is to get the neck angle and the neck relief right. Then all can be adjusted to your personal likings.

Looking through the Vol. 1 of the G.Graf-Martinez Flamenco book,
there is a 'guitar terminology' chart on p.74 that defines this term:

Action= tocabilidad

Hope this helps a little.

I have absorbed while lurking on the foro.

I am going to order a guitar from S. Castillo/Paracho, so I have also been looking for the proper 'guitar terms' to use when creating a draft for my Spanish-fluent friend to translate.
