*SOLD* 2008 Francisco Navarro peghea...

This is the cedar top Student 2 model, customized with ebony pegs and a satin nitrocellulose finish on the neck. I bought this from La Falseta a few months ago and the only blemishes are some tiny string knicks behind the bridge, otherwise it's flawless. This is painful to do but I need to pay some college bills, and my education takes absolute top priority.

$740 US covers shipping within the US. International shipping will need to be quoted.

ah, looks good. I would like to try it and compare it to my Navarro. Good luck selling, some one will get a nice guitar from that.

Sad when one is forced to sell.

What will you use for now? You also sold your Yamaha that you got from Jeff.

After this I'll be guitar-less temporarily, but that's ok because I'll still have my cello.

Is that a custom rosette? I don't think you get roses unless you request it before the guitar is built.

Yup, the rosette is a personal touch. This is actually one of two identical custom jobs made in Navarro's shop, the other one is owned by gj Michelob if memory serves.

There was once an interview with Segovia about his supposed first encounter with the guitar. A flamenco player came to their house. His first rasgueo scared the little Segovia and he fell out of his chair.

I always wondered if that was why he sneered at "noisy" flamenco players and loved to assert that he "rescued" the guitar from them.

Hehe that's ok, your mother can keep the Yamaha. If it causes that much of a problem then it's definitely worth keeping.

For anyone who cares, I put this on feePay a few days ago and also on Craigslist before that. Naturally my first preference is a locally done cash deal, but it's a big world out there.

How is the setup, truly? I think it would be cool to have a peghead.

Memory does serve you well, dear. A fantastic bargain that I am sorry you need to offer. Set up is the most comfortable yet, and sound is a touch warmer than a spruce blanca, yet equally clear and dry as one would expect.

For all intent and purposes an instrument unquestionably and significantly above its humble origin, Mexico, and modest classification, Student.

Damn it. I might have to buy this. I've been getting rid of guitars lately because they are taking up about half of my bedroom...just got rid of one to a guitar shop today and sold another last month...hey maybe that means I have room for another one now

I have a gig tonight where I'm gonna test out my new mic system with my new good guitar...if it goes well I will sell my old guitar with pickups in it and buy this.

I never measured the string heights but I believe the setup is likely 95% there, give or take. If one wanted to be super-duper precise then a few tenths here and there can likely be nicked off. Overall it's low enough for Navarro to leave things on the safe side to satisfy most people's tastes, with a looow and thin bridge to help things along.

I love the way it smells too. All too often I ram my face into the soundhole and just *snifffff........*sniff* *sniff*......ahhhhhh.....I could put Calvin Klein out of business with the olfactory smorgasboard wafting up from this thing.

Well said, I could not agree more. 'Tis a shame that guitars like this aren't more common in stores, otherwise some student guitars from the bigger factories might collect more dust.

Wow, just got the guitar and she plays like a dream. Just had to shim the saddle a little to get the right amount of buzz. Thanks Ron!

Just wanted to post this publicly to endorse this guitar as a great student instrument. I wish I had bought this as my first guitar! It blows away all other $1000 and under guitars I have tried, especially that pile of junk Amalio Burguet I played the other day
Can't believe the aroma! lol

Indirectly, i share your satisfaction. I hope you like the Rose-Rosette detail, I sent a few to our Tom Nunez, to forward to Navarro and make a few guitars with a prettier look. I am in the process of ordering Navarro's "reyes" model, blanca, and I am sure it will not disappoint me either (he still has one or two of my rose-rosettes!!)

Congratulations on loving your new guitar, Deteresa. And Kovachian, I am sorry about your loss, but i am sure there will be other girls[1], cars and guitars.... and each one worth remembering.

I own the other one now. I may decide to sell it in the near future. If I do I'll post it here.
