I needed a soundport at my gig!!

I've just come back from a little community gig today which was absolutely hilarious!

They'd asked various people to perform to promote a new arts centre. What I didn't realise was that my spot was right after a childrens percussion workshop and they would still have hold of some of the instruments. I was miked up but I still couldn't hear much of what I was doing. But you know it's a community thing and you have to enter into the spirit of the thing.

I started with some Rumba so they could play their percussion along. I've never done rumba with congas, bongos, tambourines and other shakers before! To be fair they were very quiet for the Tarantas. I invited them to join in the Bulerias but they obviously hadn't watched Jason's video on palmas (on Bulerias 6's thread) so couldn't quite follow.

I said to them it was quite authentic really - like being in a Spanish bar but without the espresso machine. And then it came to me - I need a soundport!!

I've got some video - I might upload a bit to give you all some fun!
