Hi

Just wanted to say hello to my flamenco brothers and sisters. I'm very excited. I've finally found a new teacher after playing without one for the past 8 months!

This guy is very good and has a lot of experience. He plays professionally and also teaches in Spain yearly. I'm very scared too because without having a teacher for the last 8 months I can only image what he's going to say about my technique. I've gotten lazy not having a teacher.

It'll be good to get back to being disciplined and devoted. I can't wait. Hope everyone is well and doing great.

Tom, no one expects the first guitar you make to be beautiful. I´m sure your new teacher will appreciate the initiative you´ve taken in learning by yourself, and--are we talking about building or playing?

Hey Michael,

I was actually talking about playing. The guitar that I'm building is actually coming along nicely. If everything goes right I should have it completed by October but have my fingers crossed for September. Would be a nice birthday present to me.

When I'm done I'll make a webpage kind of like a diary with photos of it's construction along the way.

Cool, I look forward to it. Maybe we can jointly post our lessons learned? What model are you making? Mine is a Santos Hernandez but with work, this forum and some practise I haven't touched it for weeks. Fingerboard this weekend, I hope.

Hey Simon. I was wondering if you had ever finished yours. Mine is patterned after a Marcelo Barbero. Everything is the same with the exception of the rosette (building that is a lesson in iteself) and head design. I wanted to use mine to see how it would look. So far so good.
