But you don't have to worry eating swine if it is not raw. It has to be cooked or boiled above 70°C. No flu virus will survive that.

The ignorance reminds me on a funny (not so funny) happening in genetic modified tomatos.
A politican who is not very intelligent and dont know anything about that (like the news usually...) tried a commercial for genetic enhanced food during a visit in some laboratories where they researched on some things in tomatos.
He yelled in the camera "hey people! This food is not harmful at all... and it tastes fantastic!" Than he took a tomato and took a bite.

Some days after this happening there was a big argue about that person and much struggle. He was in an S1-laboratory and ate a modified tomato.. = GMO genetic modified organism. And there are strict rules that no GMO is ever allowed to leave the lab alive (Well...it depends on the stage of knowledge and the kind of GMO.. but in general like that in my country...).
So,..there were two possible options for the person after he ate that tomato.
1. He would have to stay in the lab for the next 3 weeks and has to collect all his pipi and kaka for this time.
2. He would have to be killed and autoclaved in the lab.

That happens if you aren't informed and ignore rules which are obvious.
If you ignore other rules, you get HIV, flus and other ugly things... It is just a matter of discipline. And... most of us dont have that. (Me too...

)

u forghot no 3..u could have given him a hot bath...70°C

thats a no brainer you have to kill him ....lol i cant belive the guy didnt ask anyone if its safe or ok to do that

truth is people who arent in your field probably have no idea of that rule ( or maybe they do and its just me

)...but common sence would tell someone to ask before touching or eating anything in a lab

Exactly ! so dont get involved with ugly Chimps with a cold

Seriuos is it true that the first case of Hiv comes from sexual contact with chimps cause i just cant imagine anyone admiting to it or the doctor having to ask...

I bet the guy that first introduced the expresion "spank the Monkey" had something to do with it

Haha Doit, I knew we'd get that kind of answer, that's why I asked

As for HIV I think the pope said recently that condoms don't help but rather raises the chances of getting it. So there's one more dumb person making dumb people dumber...

Another problem in Germany is this mentality that you should go to work even if you feel sick, proving your strength and motivation to others. So one idiot - proud he/she made it to work and got through the day with the flu - is sitting in the office a week later ALONE

People are stupid. D@mn I hate people. I could smack myself often enough, too. Oh, well...

Its not just in your country Doit. I was taught as a child to cough or sneeze into a tissue or hankerchief or at least cover my mouth with my hand. I assumed everybody else was too. I was surprised to find most people just cough and sneeze randomly over everyone around them.

I think you misunderstood my point about nutrician and rest. It doesnt stop you getting the Flu but it does stop you dying from it. Hand washing is important though. If you live in a city and you are touching door handles, hand rails on buses, trains, stair cases etc you can pick up viruses. If you then touch your nose and mouth you contract the virus. Regular hand washing significantly reduces chances of catching colds and flus.

It's true! Caused a big scandal here. German politicians took a stand against the German pope, not only for that - he wanted to bring some excommunicated cardinals - halocaust deniers - back into the church. And if you read about some of his views about the inquisition...

I was taught to cough or sneeze into my elbow, that way no worries shaking people's hands.

One of my mates said he was concerned about the possibility of becoming infected by eating roast pork, so he called the Swine Flu emergency information line, but all he could hear was 'crackling'...

I am gonna have to stay home ...not cause off me but people will runaway from me like they just saw bigfoot..lol

on the other hand i might go visit my bank manager and give him a hug..(banks answer to the recession is $2 fee everytime you wanna check your funds..even if its just on screen on a atm... or everytime u make any kind of transaction)

they Logo should be " Yeah we know theres a recession on atm but why should suffer like everyone else...well just put the prices up to things people have to do anyway "
