Head Games

That's right, head games! So whose your favorite forroites? I know that I don't top many people's list, and I know the reason why but that's not the point of all of this!

My faves are Ricardo, for his boundless expertise and freeness to tell and speak his mind. And I would have to say Ailsa, and Val, for their honesty, and straightforward kind of thinking.....and friendly way of communicating. They never seem to let anyone down. I know I do....well maybe as not as much as your thinking. But be it as it may--

Keep it positive now, 'don't want any one feeling bad about this thread! And since you don't mind me telling you, I think also that this website has a friendly and open environment for sharing ideas. Come on now don't be shy.....you'd tell it all on facebook if you were asked. Give someone a compliment.

Now doesn't this thread suck???!!!

I'm serious! You might even get to hijack the thread......and in the end everybody does anyway. So there! Alright I am really in to writing this.

Anybody??? Oh well I think that giving people compliments is a wonderful thing, it makes them feel good. Don't worry about that, there's more than three people that I admire, but I only mentoned three favorites. Trust me I am that strange when all people do is argue, and sit in competion with one another. I am not that kind of person, though I would have to admit my opinion is always subject to change! Oh well, this thread is bad idea, and Ricardo take it in stride, if you were not on the foro, there would be little in the way of sorting out stuff that no one else can figure out. You are a credit to the foro, though I would have to say, you've been here a long time........so it's something that I think most people feel about you. Thanks for wasting your time here, and no I don't really want a hug from you!

Arash, You're really angry with me for my other posts! If you can't think postively about others then you really do have a problem.......J.....o? Who do you apreciate on the foro? That is not a sexual question and this is not a sexual thread. But, J......o, is a comment that states only the mental processes in your mind. No, you J....o! I am not going to start an arguement here, and if nobody apreciates this thread, so they don't get it. Big deal. I'm terribly sorry for putting it to you all. Negativity is a heck of a lot easier to negative people. So what? Does your comment put me in some kind of shame? Oh no, shame!

i like mostly everybody here. the way i see it, it's like a t.v. show with each member being a character. everyone has their personalities and everyone plays a role.

overall, it's a pretty balanced forum. for example, we have very straight forward people like doitsujin (calling people pussies, etc. lol) and more considerate, supportive guys like florian.

it's pretty hard for me to pick out favorites, if you see what i mean. do you notice any other polar opposites?

Well Gary I'm honoured to be mentioned. You are right it is nice to be given a compliment.

I think it is hard to pick people out because everyone contributes what they can. I used to do a job where I managed some volunteers in the health sector, and everybody contributed a different amount according to what they were able. I found it was best to just accept what was freely given and not pressure people into giving more. I think the Foro's a bit like that. Some people don't post often but when they do it can be a gem (have just read Tony Arnold on the c-a-m-i thread!).

There's also good in everyone, just sometimes not displayed here on the Foro!

I like everbody..i am not in big favoure of stuff like this..because while it compliments a handfull of people it leaves others feel unimportant..and thats just not the case..

absoluteley everyone brings alot to the forum and i like or atleast respect every member here..there might be arguments and disagreements or i might not personally get along with someone or see eye to eye on things but that dosent mean that they contribuition is not 100% just as important

and it goes the other way too..i might personally like someone for just his sense of houmor, or because we see eye to eye..dosent mean ..i am gonna declare him more important to anyone else here or his opinion more important.

while i have huge admiration and respect for eg. Ricardo ( ofcourse how could you not) i am not about to declare him or anyone else (btw..i am very fond personally of everyone u mentioned and more) anymore important than any other of the 500 members that make this place what it is .. its just the separation and the "classes" the indirectly saying that what other do its irrelevant or less important to the forum or me..and i am not a big fan of that

so i am not a big fan of prazing a handfull ..either everyone or noone

besides there are no good guys or better guys or bad guys..I think absoluteley anyone can be the "Hero" or " Villan" the only thing that differs is the circumstances

I refuse to place anyone even a split second in front of anyone else..or if you like you are all my top favourites

but that might change depending on what you say

...however at the sart of every conversation everyone is always in the same spot ...dead even

but please dont feel like i slapped your hand off lol..i know u meant well, meant to be positive...but stuff like this while it compliments a few it makes alot more feel unapreciated

ofcourse theres nothing stopping you from showing your apreciation to members u like or favour but do it in a way that dosent make others wonder if you like them or not..in pm or on the spot (tread) were a certain thing a member has done or said that you approve off...do you know what i mean ?

but again, i tottaly get that you meant this in a positive way, dont misunderstand me

Anyway ...whats your problem ?

...how come you dont like me ?

why am i not important enough to be on your favourites list ?.....dont answer that

I agree with Florian.

I have spent years asking members to discuss the subject and not the person.

Whom people "like" or "dislike" is entirely personal and does not benefit the Forum one bit or have anything to do with discussing Flamenco related topics. IMO.

In fact the opposite effect is likely to be achieved.

Sorry, but like Flo, I'm not in favour of these kind of posts.

I think a thread where people post a little info on the forum-personality of people here, forum name and then a few keywords, would be fun and informative, but a sort of popularity contest is never a good idea IMNSHO :)

Florian makes a great point, I agree, and yet I think it's great to have favorites, and I do have a lot of them.

But, I am not going to make out a huge list because that would be time consuming. I just pulled the three out of my mind. Ok, since you all feel that everyone is your favorite I will accept that as an answer. But I do respond differently to various people.

And I am a human being. I am constantly amused here where I am not there.... And that's what this thread is all about, not to distort it or change it, but hey, if you all want to discuss how wonderfull you all are, be my guest! That is a great answer to the question........ every thing is true they say! So change the thread and say then how much you love the foro and all of these marvelous people........just give this place a pat on the back why don't you. And while you're at it you can very well be nice to everyone and love everyone you see because that is what you say you're all about.....isn't it? Bloody martyrs do things like that.

Sorry, but i think you don't get it or you are just bored.

This place is like a couple of guys who know eachother sitting together in a bar and having some drinks, discuss about their hobbies, etc. Some might be close friends, some might like or dislike eachother, some might just tolerate eachother, etc.......but they have one thing in common which is their hobby (flamenco)

Then Gary who is also there, suddenly asks : "Who is your favourite guy here?"

What would be the reaction?
Just think about it.

I know the internet is anonym and sometimes you forget that there are "real" human beeings behind all these posts (i forget it sometimes too), but if you think about it the way i mentioned above, then you will see that this place is exactly like this BAR (And in this Bar , even Gary would not ask such a question, would he?)! So, the best answer to this question would be: Silence! (or not more than a joke and carry on and discuss about something else).

So no need for ironic posts like this. :
