RE: French Polish care (in reply to Guest)

Speaking from personal experience, and having asked numerous question about FP, although mine only has the soundboard FPed: Resting your arm on it wont ruin it. Probably. Unless you're terribly unclean, or have corrosive body chemistry. The man who built my guitar doesn't think it's a big deal, but my teacher instructed me to get a high grade chamois to wipe it down after use. I do that. FP is a little more impressionable than lacquer, so obviously you avoid wearing things with buttons. However, as long as you don't bread a hole in the wood, FP is easier to repair than lacquer. If you get a dent, they can just fill the ding with lacquer to bring it up to level and then polish over it (at least that's what I was told). FP is a lot easier to redo than lacquer. That cover is pretty dumb. Unless it's just, you know, pijamas for when you put it to bed, it defeats the purpose of having FP. If someone is really that worried about it, they need a practice guitar.
