Giralda Guitars

Flamenco World offers Giralda guitars exclusively (on the internet):
https://www.flamenco-world.com/tienda/shop.php?&op_shop=shop&id_cat=143

Has anyone experience in these models? I´m interested in the sound meaning especially singing or hard trebles and the action E6 at bridge.

Bernd

Ok, thank you.
I see the guy who wrote this review is not very experienced. No info about action at bridge and buying abroad means to have support by a local guitar maker. However, saving on a thin fretboard leads me to the decission to stay off from this housewife guitar.

I have it. There was a thread about them sometime ago.

I don't remember the original action, because I lowered it. I got it with a low tension strings and I was a bit disapointed about the sound... Anyway, I lovered the action and put on hight tension Labella. I like it now. It sounds better and better (I'm getting better too)

But I think they are way too expensive.

About 4mm. I think I could get it lower.

I have the Jerez model too. I read and agree with the harmonycentral.com review, there is something strange about the fretboard of mine too, like it's had a bad refret (I got it second hand and paid less than half the RRP) or the apprentice finished the board while the maestro was at lunch. The action was high when I got it but now it's very low, maybe too much so
But it's really quite a good guitar for the price, very loud with normal strings, very 'flamenco' (old school PP type sound), a little quirky... the machines look very solid but are not particularly friendly for fine tuning.
But for quite a bit less than that money you could get something made in Spain and a lot more nicely finished like say an Esteve 2GR6F (the all solid one)... or if, unlike me, you would ever buy a Japanese guitar a Yamaha...

Hi Bernd,

I went to the Flamenco World shop in Calle Huertas, Madrid to try one of these guitars some time ago. Unfortunately the shop does not stock any guitars but just acts as a distribution agent so you can never be sure what you are going to get.

On the positive side, they did stock some very nice polka dot dresses in a variety of shades of LOUD!

Cheers

@ cneberg

4 mm at bridge - really???? So it fits to the cigarette test.
Or do you mean 4 mm at 12th fret?

@ andresito & cneberg

Do you have a soundfile online or can send me one? => bch at gitarre-online.com
Thankx.

No, no 4mm at 12th fret

At the bridge it's definitely higher. Which I don't care. I would, if I could play like Paco.

Which makes me wonder, do you think I could play like Paco if....
