RE: The missing members thread (in reply to Florian

Hi Flo !

I'm still lurking everyday. But somehow I don't feel the urge to respond on any thread. The foro has become more serious, analysing scales, historical perspectives, who knows who in the REAL flamenco world. Not my cup of tea. But that's alright, it's good that things change, that keeps them lively.

So, I think people like me don't fit in at the moment. I'm sure some people are happy with my abscence.

Hey greate to hear from you guys !!

Romerito, good for you man, looking foward to hearing it.

Koella u crazy man, i gues i know what u mean but then theres still people like me who can bring sex, bad jokes, movie quotes, gay photos of vicente into every serious conversation ( i feel that its my gift to the world

Well i miss you both of you, and I feel so terrible , i just remembered Doitsujin too !!

But i do understand how u feel , u get those patches of time where all u wanna do is read u just have nothing u wanna say.

lets hope we can come up with a thread that u cannot resist

but just remember when it was good it as good because u contribuited to making it what it was, all of you.

RE: The missing members thread (in reply to Florian

Damn u Koella now u got me thinking

to be frank , i think that posting videos of youtube in audio is killing us, we dont know whos who anymore, i love to watch membes playing or listen to theyr audios, that is why i am here, i am here to interact, exchange ideas, encourage chat to members here, i got a million flamenco dvds if i am looking to worship a pro player. And there is about a million of pro players to be worshiped, but why have a discussion forum to do that ? u can do it in youtube. there was a time when we did Group numbers togheder, they might have been crap, but we had fun and all felled like we were part of a group. I dont know here we lost it but lets hope we can find the group again, and lets hope we can all leave our egos at the door. Not just suck up to the good players but try and make it a good encouraging enviorement for everyone here.

But ofcourse this are the guitarists that inspire us so there has to be a place for them here, we just have to think of a way that its less confusing now that theres so many outside links beeing posted.
i cant keep up with the videos , audios etc. since when we paste just a link for youtube u dont really need the audios thread for it, or make a Members Only audio/video thread.

lol i didnt know i had all this inside of me but i gues u got me thinking and yeah i wanted to say something. I miss the old feeling of belonging to something.

I cant keep up with the videos cause of my speed but i am gonna make more of an effort to listen to all the member audios and leave a comment.. I swear !

@Flo

Whatever Flo.
When you decide to join the goup buleria, be aware of the fact that just a minute after it has been posted, someone puts in a link to some awesome youtube video.

Then your group buleria will look like....
Like I said: whatever, who cares

Yes, I think it's a good idea to give the youtube links a different forum chapter.

But Koella does that really matter? Isn't the point to have fun, maybe to learn at little something new, do something as a group? Maybe when you have been playing longer, as you have, your aims are different.

Oh no, I know what it is - I've just seen you have a score of 103, and you don't want any taken away!

Hey Koella,
I haven't taken the hump or anything!
Truth is, that I've had a lot of BIG DIY jobs to to do to in the last month to stop the house falling apart
(I had to lift and replace the whole floor in my workshop, which was quite a job!)
I've been at it a month now...my nails are all broken, I'm dog tired, but it's getting there....
I won't be playing Flamenco for a couple of months..that's for sure.
Come the Winter, I should be back on track.
That's the way it's always been with me.
I love going back and re-visiting the basics and assimilating the real basic stuff, rather than the fancy stuff.
(My favourite is still Terremoto with Manuel Morao!)
Just me, and I don't put anybody down for wanting to follow the virtuoso path.
(You gotta admit though...ToddK is just pure magic in his playing and interpretation...just magic IMO.)
All take care and will be back in a few weeks!
Florian, Ricardo, Simon, Romerito, Duende, and about a hundred others of my friends...
I think about you guys a LOT.
I really do....

cheers,

Ron

I agree with florian that the forum is getting swamped by links to famous players. I vote for making the audio section "foro material only" and making a new section for audio clips and youtube links.

todk's playing was never in question, but whatever it was just a passing comment cause i remember seeing it when it happened and it surrprised me, i dont wanna blame everything on todk, perhaps he had his reasons i dont know. His relationship with Edgar has taken a life of itsown

i think all of us ( me included, i am not perfect) have to make a concious just litlle effort of making this place fun and ok for everyone not just for the select few whos playing we admire. Its eazy to get cought up in yourself and just what u want but if everyone did that it would be a very different foro.

look at ricardo, brilliant player, still takes time to listen to everything and get involved into alot of stuff here.

Sorry I missed this, very interesting, I love this forum no matter what, I have learned to take it with a grain of salt.

But I'm still gonna be my self no matter what.

Posts for youtube on a different section is a great idea.

I hope some people join in on my group jam, I know My playing isnt always all there yet but I love to learn and create.

speaking as a total foro n00b, why don't y'all have a competition? pick a palo, do some vids or audio of it, post em and have a poll. do like a tournament based thing, and whoever wins...................gets to post all the bad jokes and talk about sex, this way we can all join in a community thing, and make bad jokes while talking about sex.

Thereby accomplishing all of the goals set forth on this thread.

Or.... alternately, we could all record our best farts. I think that might be a little more fun.

because thank god we live in a world where any man or woman has the right to make bad jokes or talk about sex no matter how gooda a guitarist or not, that is a privilege Paco himself couldnt take away

I am not sure u are getting the points made in this thread, but if u just read the first 2 posts and were in the hurry to be witty with quic resoponse u can be forghiven
