$10 Yamaha? 
Hey guys, I just came across a yamaha cg171-sf with a current bid of $10.50 on ebay. You can't really make out the condition of the guitar but the seller mentions that its like new. What gives???

If you would only buy the mechanics the wood and the polish in a market. And exacly as much as you need to build a guitar. You would have to spend more money the 10$ and if you iclude the building hours you get easy over 100$. So this guitar must be made by kids in the third world or its worser than you can imagine or its a joke.

How about a guess how much it will be finally?

1050 for the zamaha tincan? lol hardly...but then again its eBay, you never know!

Donno whether i should place a bid on this and take my chances with it.. or buy a new one from music123..help? btw i live outside the US but i have an Aramex mailbox in NY so i can have it either one delivered there..Oh yea, one more thing.. the guitar on music123 is stated as Yamaha CG171SF "Classical Guitar".. is there such a thing as a cg171sf classical? or is that they just dont know the difference . Anyways thanks for your help guys

Items on Ebay usually sell for 1/2 to 2/3 of their real value. That said, occasionally one sells for much more or much less and someone gets a bargain or shafted. But I'd say this guitar will sell for 1/2 to 2/3 of its value. But bear in mind that the Yamaha is NOT an expensive guitar to buy brand new anyway, so unless its the un-availability that draws in punters, we won't be talking major figures. Worth puting in a bid, but don't go mad.

"Classical guitar" is the generic name some people use for all nylon stringed guitars. Obviously there's a difference between classicals and flamencos, but big companies often can't be bothered to take note of this. The CG171SF is a (cheap) FLAMENCO guitar.

If I remember rightly, the "CG171SF" stands for Classical Guitar 171 Standard Flamenco.

Does any1 know if i can get a better sounding/playing guitar that the yamaha for less than $900? I had a look at some of the Cordoba models but they don't look too convincing..any suggestions?

The Cordoba flamenco guitars are shockingly classical.
Don't get them despite what the ratings at online stores say! Those fellas probably play bossa nova and some fake-menco.

Good guess GuxDiBux- it sold for $285.55, Which is approximately what most of us were expecting.
