Transcription of this Moraito Tangos...

I have been trying to play fast Jerez style Tangos with a singer and had to look for some simpler less syncopated falsettas. Has anyone come across a transcription of this one Moraito plays at about 2:04.

I don't think he plays this on Encuentro or his solo records. Maybe its cause its old and not his or not fancy enough for a solo record. Curious about that too. Anyways I can figure it out but curious to see it written down if its avaliable.

Cheers

I haven't transcribed, or looked at the foro, in a while, but Moraito falsetas almost always pique my interest. This is what I'm hearing.

Wow cool thanks Scott! I wasn't expecting someone to try and transcribe it. Just curious what was out there. Will look at this tomorrow. Here is parilla playing something similar at 2:30..

Scott that score is great! I find these kinds of falsettas a little hard to remember so nice to have it noted down. Just went through it and it seems really accurate just noticed a couple of small mistakes.

Thanks so much for this.

You're welcome, John! And thank you for the corrections. Now I'm just confused as to how I missed those. Something something two heads better than one.

Thanks for the Parrilla link. I've always enjoyed seeing different players' versions of a similar idea. The nerd in me would love to see the evolution of common falsetas mapped out over time and tocador, and perhaps even their applications to different palos. Since we already have the gist from the Moraito version, here's a quick shot at Parrilla's. I was having trouble pinning down the run at the end so I'm going with that before I listen to it a thousand times and hear a thousand different things.

Very cool thanks again Scott. I am gonna try and get that Moraito one down first then will look at the Parrilla one.

Evoloution wise its fun to look at this triplet alzapua Diego del Morao does at about 23 seconds in. Love the way its phrased to just miss the accents of the compas

Here is a transcription.

Cheers

Diego del Morao sure does some amazing things with syncopation. Yerai Cortes is another who comes to mind. You've got me thinking about falsetas being adjusted to different palos, so here is that Moraito tangos falseta por bulerias. Two for the price of, learning, one! If, on the off chance, you haven't messed around with converting falsetas between palos like this. Triplets at fast tangos tempos can be directly swapped into bulerias if played as 8th notes, and vice versa.

This is a bit of a pedantic addition, but I believe it would be a more mid tempo tangos that would fit more comfortably. 8th note triplets at 150 bpm is the same number of notes per second as straight 8ths at 225. Mid tempo tangos is what, 140ish bpm?
