So, R.D. does play flamenco

Thanks for this. Really inspiring and beautiful. And I thought I had already played enough for today. Well back to the guitar for more.

Thanks Richard, I know, I can't listen to the the other RD. I did click the link in my feed out of curiosity thinking SURELY Solera haven't given space to RD, before realising it's RD Levaniegos. RD often sounds like a mosquito to me too.

Hold on a second! I can not properly enjoy my morning coffee until I have seen a thread that has been “photo-bombed” by Morante by great cante!

RE: Alegrias (in reply to Ricardo

I remember many years ago in Jerez, la Peña los Cernicalos put on a show with the group of the Peña. On the exit one of a group from London said to me "what a great show, they are very good." I replied "This is the group of the Peña, you will see much better if you stay a while." He said " I suppose you think you could better!"

I did not reply: in truth I could have put together a better group in Cádiz in 20 minutes, but I do not like this kind of prepotente chulismo.

Later in the same Pena, Simon approached me and asked me if I would accompany a singer, with whom they had lunch that day. But the guitar belonged to the prepotente chulo, who had brought it to Jerez but did not know how to play.

At the time, I was accompanying the likes of Santiago Donday, Angel Pastor, Rancapino, Juan Silva, José Millán. I told Simon, with much regrets, that the owner could shove the guitar where the sun doesñ´t shine.

Insulting people you don´t know is not a good idea, though it has become popular on internet, where there are no consequences. I have no time for prepotente chulos.

That wouldve been a much cooler story if you'd taken up the offer and played. Then the guitar owner wouldve been wowed! Giving him a clear answer to his earlier question!
Why didn't you do it?
