Ritardando within compas and a rest ...

We've talked a lot about rubato playing within compas. Mostly about accelerando within compas. What about ritardando? I haven't found an audio or video example for flamenco yet. I ask this because for me combining both in a musical piece is a powerful tool to grab the listener's attention.

Another question is about a rest between compas, in particular, during accompaniment. For example after the beat 12, the tocaor waits for 1-3 seconds (a quarter or 8th note rest) before he goes into next compas. If it really occurs in flamenco, any video/audio example would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Thanks for the link. Some interesting stuff there. The original poster overanalyzes it. Honestly, I didn't get his 1st and 2nd question.
