Flamenco in Barcelona?

We're planning to head to Barcelona for a few days in early September, after the Corrida Goyesca in Ronda. I've never been to Barcelona.

Any recommendations for flamenco? I would be happy with just a cantaor/cantaora and a tocaor.

Larisa enjoyed the show at Jose Luis Postigo's Casa de la Guitarra in Sevilla with one each cantaor, tocaor and bailaora. From experience at other venues like Casa Patas in Madrid I suspect she enjoys baile the most, by a slight margin.

https://tablaocordobes.es/ Tablao, often with top level artists and no microphones.

You could also check the agenda on deflamenco. There may be more listed closer to your visit.

el dorado has a flamenco pena, and there is a tablao carmen amaya.

look up Jero Ferec, he does quiet a few shows in various places around BCN, and he's a solid performer too, so maybe head to one of his shows.

Paloma Fantova is a regular at this tablao, we saw her in Jerez early this year (with Tia Juana la del Pipa!), definitely worth seeing!

Hi Richard,

It is been a while since I visted Barcelona, but there is a very tiny shop called “Flamenco” with flamenco stuff, books video, cajon etc.
Not so much, but worth while to take a look.
But the fun of this shop is, that in the back is a curtain, and behind the curtain they made a litte place to give very small performings.
No tourists!

I asked the owner, and he told me there where performings on tuesday wednesday thursday friday and saturday.
entrance 10 euro, one drink free.
The performers are from the old gipsy shantytown of Somorrosto that was in the past between Barcelona and the Cemetery of Pueblo Nuevo.

I was invited for a frendsconcert, the ambiance was very nice, and not comercial.
the adres is: Marques de Barbera 6

If you walk on the Rambla, it is the street beside the gran teatre del Liceu
called Calle Union, walk in the street, and you see it at your right hand.
( The name of the street chaince in marques de barbera).

Best regards,

Peter

Now that you’ve let the cat out of the bag, as Captain of the “Sunshine, Seashells, BarShots, and Balconies” luxury cruise liner, I would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to you for providing us with this location. Our liner regularly docks in Barcelona to allow our 23,457 (approximate) passengers to disembark in search of authentic non-touristic local experiences, and I will happily place this tablao on our list of recommended sights.

As the name of our liner implies, one of the key differentiators we offer to our passengers is the provision of portable mobile balconies. Yes, thanks to us, one is no longer encumbered by the pesky buildings attached to most balconies and can enjoy free flights from virtually any location desired.**

As a token of appreciation, I would like to extend an invitation to you and one other lucky guest the opportunity to participate in one of our cruises for the reduced rate of only €32,999.99. This represents a substantial discount from our normal rates (which must remain confidential due to competitive concerns).

Hope to see you aboard soon!!!

**Go-Pro equipped headbands and selfie sticks provided with each balcony for a nominal fee or for free if the guest agrees to wear a portable chemtrail fanny pack to engage during their flight.

Thanks to all for the suggestions.

I'm afraid we may not have time to book the cruise ship, as we are going on from Barcelona to northern Italy to visit friends. The main unresolved problem is how to avoid spending the night in Venice during the first week in September.
