Custom Duty and taxes in London

I have purchased a RT ticket USA-London-USA for my 16-day vacation this May. I plan to spend 4,5 days in London, then 3 days in Spain then back to London for the rest of my vacation. My question: If I buy a guitar in Spain, do I have to pay duty and taxes upon coming back to London knowing that the guitar will accompany me on the trip to USA in a few days? Where or who I should call to get information on this? many thanks in advance.

Not entirely sure about this, but I think there's a chance that you will have to pay VAT/IVA for the guitar in Spain as you have a ticket back to London, England but I think you'll be able to reclaim the VAT in customs when you are in London airport as you return back to the States.
