on recording

I finally got around to recording some stuff, and man am I depressed! You practice scales and arpeggios for hours, go to Spain, learn falsetas and whole pieces, get gigs, then you record something and--uggg!? I knew I wasn't perfect, but am I that sloppy! That's way out of compas. That thing has as much aire as a flat taire!

Tell me about it
Hey, on the up-side, your technique is probably very competent with finger memory and all that. At least you can concentrate on the compas.

That's true, except for picado. Ooops, the P-word again! I think maybe recording yourself is one of those things that feels horrible, but is really good for you, maybe like standing on the scale, which inspires you to go to the gym.
