Greetings from South Florida

Hi everyone,

I've been reading this forum for while and finally decided to register. I've been playing guitar on and off for over 30 years. My musical interests include flamenco, rock, blues, jazz, latin music, etc. I just love music in general and I am passionate about it. I'm originally from Panama (hablo español) and now live in South Florida.

I started to get a little more serious about flamenco over a year ago (I've been playing mostly improvised pseudo flamenco all these years) I've been using the Graf-Martinez books to improve the different techniques. I'm still trying to understand Compas of different palos - the counting system is a bit confusing for me still.

I'll be getting my first flamenco guitar soon. A beautiful guitar made by Andy Culpepper. I'll post some pictures when I get it.

I hope to be able to contribute to this forum as my knowledge in this subject deepens.

Mike

Thanks Wayne and Lorenzo!

Wayne: I see that you make guitars! That steel string you made looked really nice! Was it a OM / 000 type body? Did you make it from scratch or from a kit? I love the idea of building a guitar but just don't have the time. I built a ukulele last year. It turned out ok but not great. I think the top and the finish are too thick.
