Need some medical advice ???
I have a painfull problem with my left index finger at the main joint, where it joins the hand. I think I may have twisted it somehow when lifting something, but am not sure. I do have some arthritis in both hands ( 79 years old) but this pain feels different? And the joint looks swollen. Its been about a week since it started, and no signs of going away. . . I can manage to play (barely) if I dont have to stretch too far, but stretching and barring is agonizing. Any medic types here that can offer some advice: do's/don'ts, etc. Would any kind of treatment help? Physio, etc? Should I stop playing altogether (pain! - as I usually play several hours a day) or continue playing 'lightly' with no stretches, no heavy pressure, or what??? Open to any suggestions.
