Bending cypress- Need technical advice

lightly sprayed 2.0mm and wrapped in tinfoil. I feel like I left my cookies in the oven for too long, and they baked to extra crispy instead of just bent.
I have the ability to control the bending blanket for whatever temp I want. Im a rookie, and wondering at what temp should I start to clamp down the waist. 200F? 240F? 280F? 300F? I can hear the wood sizzling with the steam, but I really need to know when to apply the bending stress onto the waist.
I glued my tailblock out of the mold, and then when I went to fit back into the mold, one of my sides lost its curvature. when I slowly compressed the mold around it, the rib gave in, and full fractured. Its painful to experience a perfectly sanded rib go from beautiful to broken. I need some technical advice. Thanks guys

You got any scrap wood you can practice with? I'd recommend getting some cheap wood and practicing with the silicon blanket. You can go pretty hot too- 300 for a few minutes, watch it like a hawk and gradually crank down. Then reduce heat.

But until you get a feel for when it actually bends in the bending machine do a few guitars by hand with a stationary iron. Or start the waist bend in the iron so you can be more gentle, then place that in the machine and fire it up.

I usually start working on the waist when I pass the flashpoint and start to hear the sizzle. One thing I do is try not to push the waist too far too fast. I will usually crank it down so that there is maybe a 2 cm or so left to do, and then work on the upper and lower bout - you can feel when they are ready to go if you are putting some weight on them with a gloved hand. You'll even see them sag a little on their own if you have heavy enough spring clamps holding the sandwich together at either end. Complete the bend of the bouts and then go back and finish the last bit of cranking down the waist. It will be ready to go at that point, and you will also pull the entire side snug to the form.

At this point, I just sizzle and crank without thinking too much about, but you have to do several dozen and bake three or four of them black to get to that place.
