Yamaha ncx2000fm

Hello , new to the forum here and wanted to ask some of you some advice on a new guitar . I currently play a Yamaha ncx2000fm , which is a great overall guitar , low action , good tone etc. Problem i run into now since i have been playing Spanish music for years ( and in the last 10 , flamenco and Brazilian styles ) , and i'm starting to find this guitar doesn't project well in a band setting with percussion and stand up bass . i find myself struggling to really accurately play passages with ease without killing my right hand . I use a mixture of plugging the guitar in and placing a mic on it and well , it's almost there .
So , my first question would be do i need a better amp setup ? ( i'm currently using a Fender Princeton to amplify it ) . My second would be has anyone had any experience with this guitar ? I'm starting to think i need to look for a new guitar that will project well . Where would i start ? Most of the music i play is a hybrid sort of like Baden Powell . I'd like to have the warmth but much better projection .
A store in town has a Ramirez 4e for sale , plays great , but i don't think it's proper guitar .
Any advice would be greatly appreciated ...
Thanks much
