It's a street performance. It was a good one during the chess game, but it lost all the fun with all that wasted food. I honestly don't understand how people like this kind of performances.

i agree, i dont think they shouldve thrown food , that was unneccesary

Seems to be a local variation of chess boxing.

Yeah, they have. It's called "La Tomatina" and it happens in the town of Buñol near Valencia.
