Glue question...

I've used fish glue, titebond and HHG. All have dried rather clear or to a light yellowish color. I have a guitar here from a "big name" Spanish maker who I won't name, that the inside is very messy. Glue squeeze out all over the place which is surprising to me because it's the first time I've seen a guitar with such messy work inside the box from a maker like this.

It has dried to a brownish / greenish color. Anyone have any ideas as to what glue could have been used? I've never used a glue that dries to a brownish/green color.

Hi Tom -

Titebond makes a brown wood glue, not sure about green brown though.

Regards,
Jeff

That sounds scary... Kind of old reheated HHG with mould????

Dont reheat to many times. Its important to put your nose into your HHG. If it smells kind of dead animal, then its good, if it smells like kinda dead rotten animal, then its to old.

I took some photos through the sound hole with my phone. Not the best quality but you get an idea of the dark color. Never seen dark glue like this in a guitar.

St. Paddy's Day Glue. Did he send you a Guinness with the guitar?

My guess is some form of epoxy glue, of which there is a wide variety. The one pic of the spot on the side looks like how epoxy clings to wood, most other glues would run more. Epoxy is used in so many different applications, such as Marine and comes in different colours. Here is a green example
