Her success came 30 years into her career.
Cruise Ships and Bars to Grammy Award Nomination.
She continued to perform barefoot to give attention to the poverty and disadvantaged mothers and children in her native Cape Verde Islands.
A style of music called 'morna', a soulful genre sung in Creole-Portuguese
The sparse use of guitars and cavaquihno has always been an enjoyable part of listening to her music. Haunting.
And a voice of real depth and hardship.
Feel lucky i had the chance to see her perform.
