https://www.lasonanta.eu/en/guitarras-flamencas-clavijeros-golpeadores-unas-zapatos-para-flamenco/guitar-sound-improvement-awakener.html

Anybody tried one? I wonder what's the opinion of our luthiers' here?
I personally find it funny.

THere has been lots of talk of this type device in the past. It was called the "Tonerite" or something like that. Here is one discussion:

doesn't "guitar sound improvement awakener" say enough??
playing the guitar alot to improve the sound isn't enough, you need to awake it first hahaha

also I might say, I've seen realy good players play terrible guitars, but still manage to get a good sound from them, I've also seen terrible players play realy good guitar, guess what, they didnt sound good ;)

Improving the handling of a car doesn't make the driver a better driver right?

I’m dubious. It’s certainly true that a guitar played by a good musician will improve; a friend of mine calls this "putting music into it". I’ve heard attempted theoretical explanations of this that I won’t bore you with.

It’s also true that an instrument played inappropriately will deteriorate, and past a certain point can‘t be rescued. There was vogue for playing flamenco guitars in the UK folk world at one time (possibly following the lead of The Dubliners’ Ronnie Drew, who started as a flamenco guitarist and lived in Spain for some time). The results were horrifying.

I remain to be convinced that a machine can simulate this.

I really dont think that only a "good" musician's guitar will improve
Fact is, such an improvement due to heavy playing exist, this seems to be experienced by almost all players & builders. There is also agreement though on the fact that regardless of that, the guitar can have almost daily ups and downs in sound just like the player in his hearing ability, but this i think only to a degree, that we still are able to tell a bright guitar from a dull one.

Im almost sure, its still speculating though, that it has more to do with the simple mechanics of strings pulling the top and body of a guitar + creating high volume inside the guitar, rather than frequency. Reason is the sound of the WHOLE guitar improves, not just certain frequencies.

btw I didn't mean to say that only a guitar played by a good guitarist will improve in sound, any guitar thats being played will improve.

Im not saying this machine wont work, it actually might, ive heard of luthiers putting brand new guitars in a soundbox where they play frequencies for a period of time to help the guitar set in, they obviously believe it works...but do you need a machine of some sort to improve the sound of your guitar??
