unusual blanca stolen fitted with pa...

Hi Everyone I have browsed the foro on and off with much interest over several months now. An unfortunate event has prompted me to register to do two things. To participate in some really interesting discussions going on here, which is not unfortunate in any way. The second one really is a great misfortune to a very fine musician and aficionado.

Two weeks ago a blanca guitar with cedar soundboard was stolen from a pub in Bristol. The guitar was made in my workshop in 2009 and is fitted with perfection pegs. The owner Jem Maud of Bridgewater was devastated by its loss and did not tell me about it until recently. The label reads Anthony Thompson Luthier Glastonbury England. It is dated 2009, signed and dedicated "for Jem" Unfortunately it was not insured. There is a small repair between the side and neck joint on the bass side. Thee guitar weighs about 1020 grams and was in a Hiscox case

The guitar means a great deal to Jem and he is a working musician and not a wealthy man. He is a humble and warm human being and the return of this instrument would fill, what to him, is an inconsolable loss in his life. I am going to make another instrument for him as a gift but I will not be able to deliver for at least nine months, perhaps longer as I will have to fit it in between current commissions.

If anyone knows anything about this instrument or its whereabouts please let me know. I will offer a reward for its return no questions asked. He is a dear friend and is lost without his guitar.

I can be contacted at tony@glastonburyguitars.co.uk or through the forum

Thanks for reading.

Tony
