Guitar shipping

Hi,
I live in Asia, Hong Kong, and unsurprisingly I find few opportunities to try flamenco guitars before buying unless I go to Europe. Similarly, there are few specialist providers here, so most of my guitars have been bought on line. Shipping then becomes an issue. I've had one guitar shipped by UPS from Europe for around 320 Euros. I'm thinking of buying a guitar from the US but UPS is asking over $500. Someone recommended USPS which is a lot less expensive. Does anyone ou there have any experience of shipping guitars and which shippers give the best cost/service?

Hi,

I would say that should be less that 500 euros.

Try MRW, TNT, or FEDEX

Best
Santi

Hi!

Tom Nunez from La Falseta shipped me a guitar through USPS once and there was no problem at all with their service. It took some time to arrive but it was definitely much cheaper than the courier companies.

The other thing you could try to have a look at are dealers... sometimes, due to their high shipping load, they get some really good rates with courier companies so they can ship you a guitar for fairly cheap.

Saludos.
