Paco de Lucia's website

http://www.pacodelucia.org/en/home

I used to check this some time back, and it was a poorly created, not-so-maintained website.

It RULES now, finally!

Just thought you might want to have a look, if you haven't been doing so for some time, as was my case.

Cheers!

Whoops! Typos ahoy, Maestro PdL!

"Other albums are anthologies. You can also find the work I recorded with Al Di Mcola y Me Laughlin that, in spite of being very important for my evolution as a musician, they were a parenthesis in my work dedicated to flamenco."

Sh*t!!!

He's finally creeping out of his shell and self-isolation...

Maybe next year he'll be giving lessons like Tomatito.....

(Not that it will do anyone the slightest bit of good since you've got to do it yourself.. )

cheers,

Ron

I hope he would do a video like gerardo, focusing on techniques and his thoughts of approaching composition.

In the "Foro" section, it appears there are going to be "master classes" and "classes recorded for share." I wonder what, if any, role PDL will have in those.

Perhaps this is common knowledge, but I found this bit from "Paco's Notes" at once hilarious and fascinating:

quote:

When they offered me to play the Concierto de Aranjuez in Japan, it was a challenge for me. I had never played it before – it was new to me. As it often happens to me, I signed the contract and forgot about it [!!!]. Before one knows it, there was only a month before the debut [!!!].

There's more to the story, of course. But how do you "forget" a contract you sign for a musical performance as the star soloist in the orchestra of a distant nation?!

Does anyone know if this is the original performance?
