Louis_B's new negra

I thought you might like to see Louis_B’s new negra.

Luthier: Kevin Richards
Scale: 655mm
Soundboard/back & sides: Spruce/rosewood
Head plate/bridge: rosewood
Fretboard: ebony
Tuners: Rubner (Hauser style, simple engraving version)
Finish: French polish
Weight (electronic kitchen scales): 1.48kg – 80g heavier than Louis’ blanca.

We’ve been comparing, in a very unscientific way, the negra and his Kevin Richards-made blanca (new strings Kevin ) this morning.

I know its very difficult, especially for me, to put it into words but I’ll try:

- Both sound wonderful
- the trebles are equally crisp
- the negra is louder overall
- the negra has more bass
- the negra has slightly more sustain

His mum described the negra as ‘sounding like summer, the blanca like autumn’ - she's more poetic than me

The quality of my photographs do scant justice to a very pretty guitar
