Burguet 3f for 400 euros good deal?

Dear experts,

I'm an advanced beginner flamenco guitarist (have been playing undiscplinnedly for 15 year but since I have discovered flamenco I play with discipline, 1.5 hours a day, now sicnce 2.5 years) on a beginner level classical guitar,

On e-bay I saw this Amalio Burguet 3F guitar on sale for 400 euros. Do you think this is a good buy, considering my level and the quality of the guitar?

Thank you very much in advance for you advice and saludos,

Jurriaan

Hi Jurriaan,

Welcome to the foro

The guitar is new for sale for euro 759.- at La guitarra buena in Amsterdam, and for euro 699 at Casa Benelly in Den Haag.
So 400 euro would not be cheap in my opinion.
Considering the time you spend practising, you soon want a better guitar, so my advice would be; save a bit more and buy the best guitar you can pay and get. Especially for a "beginner" what you not really are anymore, it is very nice to have a good guitar,so you can concentrate on your technique and not on the bat habbits from a bad guitar.

Good guitar hunting!

Yes, I think you are right. I can actually afford a very good one, but buying such a good one takes a lot of time researching so that might have attracted me in considering that cheaper one.

Thank you for the precise advice (hehe, even with the Dutch specifics, I will probably go for one at Guitarra Buena) en getting me on the right track!

Groetjes,

Jurriaan

If you consider to buy an expensive guitar at a shop, also consider to let build one by one of the excelent Luthiers here on the foro.

Groetjes! :-)

400 Euros for a Burquet 3F isn't bad but I myself wouldn't buy one of those guitars. I've played a few and was underwhelmed.

For about that price or so, I quite liked the Yamaha CG182SF but the Camps M5S/M7S (one is laminated cypress, the other laminated maple) were the best budget ones.

About that price range the Kremona Rosa Diva if you can find one can be bought brand new for a little more which is good too.

In that price range too, occasionally a Valeriano Bernal Prodigio pops up, which if you can find one would be the best option (IMO).

Rhetorical or not - I could make a good guitar for 400 Euros - but if I sell it I need to cover 150-200 hours of work in the price - at 10 euros an hour (better to work at Burger King?) that adds 1500-2000 euros to the cost
