RE: I'm EXCITED!! (got my anders, bu... (in reply to HolyEvil

Hi there guys.. I got my Anders guitar today and was very excited when I was heading into the post office!!

Well I got it home, swapped the strings, and cleaned the fretboard (which had quite alot of grim).. I found that the person who sent the guitar put the guitar on top of the guitar case key which caused a gash on the back of the guitar (heartache!) but all good. It'll give it character!
When I started playing, found that it wasn't as loud as I was expecting..
Then I realized it was a 12 hole tie block, so I went online to check how to use it and it definitely increased the break angle by quite abit. and once I finished, I tried it again and it was definitely louder than it was.

I've attached some pictures.. but I would like some advice.
I took a photo of the saddle compartment and the high E strings tie block.
Need to check whether I need to get something (and if needed - what thing) to fill that empty space where the saddle compartment is chipped away.
Another thing to check is that the 2 holes allocated for the high E string seems to be really really close to each other and seems to be cutting into each other. Should I keep using the same way to tie the string or just use the normal 6 hole tie block way of tying the high E string?

Hola chaps,
Why not send a PM to Anders, he would surely offer the best advice.

With respect of the piece of wood missing in the saddle slot, I wouldnt do anything. Because of stringpressure, the sound and volume is produced on the bottom and the front of the saddle slot. The chip missing could have "dissappeared" during a change of saddle or because the saddle was taken off in order to lower the action.

With respect of the holes, yes they are a bit close (I´m not perfect) but its not a real problem. You could string the guitar in another way that puts a lot less stress on the wood between the two holes.

Good luck with the guitar. I liked it a lot when I shipped it to Grece some 15 month ago.
