Interview Joaquín Cortés!

Hello, my name is Alejandra, I'm an Ecuadorian journalist and soon I will have the chance to interview Mr. Joaquín Cortés. This interview will be built with questions of dancers all over the world (professional, semiprofessional, teachers, students, etc). All kinds of questions about his career and technique as a dancer, choreographer, producer, etc, are welcome. I would be extremely honored if you join or let your dancer friends to read my message and join the interview if interested. I would prefer to receive the questions with a little information about the person who asks it (name, level, nationality, etc).

An internet edition of my interview with maestro Janos Starker, years ago. It was also published in English at the Violoncello Society Newsletter of New York.
As they say, the same flower produces different ideas in a scientist, a farmer and a poet. Dancers have different needs and curiosities than a "regular person", like a mere journalist. That's why I aim to write a document that will be useful for professionals, students, choreographers... anyway. I found simpler to find articles about Mr. Cortés' personal life than about his career, and I think it's about time to change that.

Yes, Heme, I love Mario Danza's version. He always rocks the floor under my feet. I notice most visitors are musicians. Any question for Joaquín Cortés about that unique symbiosis musician -bailaor/a? I wonder if my idea isnt clear. If so, let me know, please.

Do you mean visitors to the Foro? Yes we are mostly guitarists, though a few of us are both learning guitar and dance (Val, buleria, me).

Maybe just me but I'm not really sure what you mean by 'unique symbiosis musician -bailaor/a'

Dear Ailsita: You can borrow it but take good care of it.

AS well as in symphony orchestras, when a soloist arrives that triangled relationship conductor/orchestra/soloist takes time to develop until the 3 basic members learn to read each others signs and minds, I assume that the relationship in a tablao between dancers and musicians is similar, like what i call the "feet reading" between cajoneros and dancers... well, it takes time and work to get to a smooth and effective point. I assume that Mr. Cortés has his own communication tricks that could be shared with perhaps less seasoned musicians/dancers, or seasoned people with a different vision of it, in case anyone would like to ask a question about it.

Seems I wasnt clear, I dont plan to steal anyone's questions. The author of the question can give us personal information that i would include.

So, if there's something you would like to ask Joaquín Cortés in this ambush/interview, join. I will be honored to include you in the project.
