RE: Andando El Tiempo (in reply to Guest

I recently got this album.
Its one of my favourites right now.

Siempre Es Tarde is the track that first jumped out at me and I think there are two guitars on it though not 100% sure.

Track two Trasgo is also really good but a little short.

Do you play guitar?
If so check out the Nunez instructional DVD/Book.

Its great

it's one of my favorite albums too...there is no other guitar on Siempre es Tarde, just one and one set of fingers...
i've had the luck of having seen him perform this live...and wow...it was the piece he started with, no fancy slow stuff to warm up with...what can i say, the guy's a genius, the #1 concert ever i've been to...

IMO, Gerardo should have won the grammy for this one. If I'm not mistaken, Tomatito won it for Aguadulce. I love Tomate but I just wasn't particularly fond of this album. Andando El Tiempo is a CD I love from the first to the last track.

Yep, one of my favorites. Gerardo has the acoustic bass guitar play some doubled lines with his melodies, it is very subtle. In addition, he likes to overdub little harmonies in thirds hear and there to spice it up. But mostly it is one guitar. Here is a live snipit of "siempre es Tarde". Notice the commentary.

That song was the best on this album, but it was already on jazzpana. I found some of the tracks to be very bland and generic on this album. I did like the farruca (the second one), the first track (rumba) and the first bulerias on the track. Thats it. No wait, the solea por buleria was awsome too. Ok. Thats most of the tracks. I think it was just that I had his encuentro vid before I bought the cd so I was already tired of 3 of the tracks.
