Guitar shop in San Jose

I'm betting a number of you have visited Fine Fretted Instruments in San Jose before. It comes up in a number of searches on this site. Has anyone purchased a guitar here? Lots of great stuff to look at online.....

Yikes! Is that really a Conde? That must have been made under contract elsewhere.

This is a lower end model Conde, you can tell by the label, rosette, tie block and simple binding. Judging by those features it wouldn't have even been at the level to have the Esteso headstock shape.

The headstock would have originally had the rounded shape like the photo below. Someone has changed the headstock shape. They only had limited wood to work with, that's why the media luna shape is off and the pegs are so close to the horizontal edge cuts.
This seller also states 'original french polish'. Conde are nitro finished.

Compared to a genuine late 60s media luna.

They’re not doing themselves any favours by posting blurry pictures auto-focused on the backgrounds instead of the instrument. It doesn’t inspire confidence.

Agreed about the s***** pictures. That headstock does look like it's been refinished in that picture, but would it be worth someone's time to go through all that work? How much could they increase the sales price by?

Yeah no excuse for blurry pics these days! Instantly repels me.

And there's a decent amount of effort going into this site. Just sloppy

A few thousand dollars to a naive buyer.
