Jerez in Feb/March

Happy New Year all.

It's been quite a few years since I last truly immersed myself in Flamenco, and I'm hoping to attend the Festival in Jerez in spring, assuming it goes ahead. Anyone else planning on attending? Met some nice folks from here in previous years.

Any tips on alternative shows beyond the main programme, guitar masterclasses, etc would be much appreciated. As would any tips on teachers I could contact for some intensive guitar lessons.

Thanks!

D

teachers I would recommend having done mini cursos and private lessons in Jerez, would be some of the following (in no particular order)

jesus agarrado el guardia
Manuel Valencia
Juan Manuel Moneo
Miguel Salado

If going to be in the area generally Nino Manuel in sanlucar de barremeda is another great teacher.

sadly most of the other cursos only get publicized the week before the festival commences, i would have liked to have done a curso with antonio jero, but it clashed time wise with another course with manuel parilla, (already paid curso in advance).

Not this year. They're going pretty hysterical on the lockdown measures. Even if you don't mind the outdoor masks / health passports etc, there is a good chance flights might get cancelled.

Hopefully by the time of the Bienal in Sevilla later in the year things will be calmer.

Thanks all.

Will be in Jerez 24th Feb - 6th March. Will most probably check out the Antonio Rey masterclass, and a few shows that week.
