Grandes cantaores

Many aficionados think that Chacon is the best singer in the history of flamenco. Others consider that Torres is the best.

But both Chacon and Torres considered Tomás to be the best. A ver...

Tomás por soleares. The soleá de Frijones is an obra de arte.

Manuel Torre= the best expression or emotion.

Antonio Chacon= the best musicality and phrasing of the melodic lines.

Tomas Pavon = the best vocal tone quality or sound.

Nadal, Djokavic, Federer....three kings.

For comparison the first and third (2:25) of Chacon here correspond to Pavon 1st and second style:

And Chacon’s second letra (1:42) is damn impressive for its range, similar to Pavon frijones.

So the text of Tomas Pavon song is:

a clavito y canelita

but what does it mean? (google translate gives not realy a satisfying answer..)

And also the second song:

tengo el gusto tan colmado cuando te tengo a mi verta, que si me dieran la muerte creo que no la sintiera

Acuerdate cuando entonces bajabas descalza a abrirme y ahora no me conoces.

Actually pretty nice to have text next to it and be able to translate.. opens up a new door. ;-)
