Back in March during the Jerez festival he had already been hospitalized. At the peña in Santiago they said it was serious but were still hopeful in his recovery. Sad news.

When this came out it was the unique recording that reminds me of nights with Gerardo Nuñez in Sanlucar Bodega’s and such....not surprised to see in album notes this was recorded in Sanlucar bodega! Sanlucar the perfect cross roads of jerez and Cadiz, even tomate’s toque has a different flavor in this environment, the best track on the album for sure.

at 2:00, One of my favourite letras, the timbre of Fernando's voice is really striking here. The following lyric has got a great twist of humour and mischief in it.

https://youtu.be/CeTIwQSOYr0?t=119

Tengo una puerta en mi alma
que no necesita llave
yo la tengo siempre abierta
y no me la cierra nadie

Me tiraste un limón
que si ma dado en la frente
eso lo hace el amor
flamenquita los que sienten
ay que te quiero
te quiero te quiero
que de vergüenza
y no te lo peno.

Mamá, que me araña el gatito
échalo pallá
échalo un poquito.
