Tomatito and José Mercé

It looks like they will be putting out an album very soon.

I’m really looking forward to hearing it. José Mercé favours a fairly even mix of Latin pop and flamenco pieces on his albums and the production standards in the past have always been to the highest level. If this is anything like his works with Vicente Amigo or Moraito then I expect it will be a treat.

I guess I’m not a purist because I enjoy his pop stuff as much as I do his flamenco.

Moraito played on pretty well every album he did after 2000 up until his death. Lío and Lo Que No Se Da are both worth a listen. I like all his stuff, though.

and Moraíto Chico was one of the greatest players.

Incredible video...it's times like these I wish I spoke Spanish as the discussion seems to be interesting and important to the music. Moraito's accompaniment is phenomenal, the perfect compliment to the cante.

Great recommendation.
