3D video from a gig! (modern verdial...

I had to post this, it's so weird and cool at the same time :-)

We play a song called Erland at the Lost in Music Festival in Tampere (Finland). This is a quite small club but with excellent atmosphere. You can scroll the screen and look where ever you want to! I've heard that some browsers don't work so well with the 3D videos but at least Chrome should be 100%

Hope you enjoy this new technology!

Firefox works fine with this.

Wow, this is so cool. But, how?? How did you shoot this? I notice even the sound changes as you look toward the band vs. toward the audience, so even the audio is somehow "3D".

Thanks Joonas.

Thanx!

The university and Nokia shot this with cams which were like "footballs". You can see one cam a front of us when the picture is a little bit more far away. They used 3-4 cams. I suppose that those cams also recorded a part of the audio. They recorded audio also straight from the mixing console but surround effect comes from the cams. But not 100% sure. Just a guess.

There is also a version for the VR glasses from Samsung. Haven't seen that yet but right after the concert they showed us some clips with the glasses. So weird and cool :-D

I think this type of video works better in small clubs because in a big theater you can't see audience so well because of the distance. Here everything is close.
