Beautiful, Simon. Is the tree with the red foliage in the background by chance a maple? If not, what is it?

It's a botanical garden, so there should be a label on it. I'll look for it when I next walk the dog.

Thanks, I take no credit for nature's colours and the park design but I always carry a camera or an iPhone 6, at a minimum. An image eventually shows itself if the light is right.

I found the label, it's a Sweet Gum from the Eastern United States

I can't tell from the perspective how tall the sweet gum tree is...when I was in high school we lived on Bolling Air Force Base in Washington, DC. Behind our quarters was a park shaded mainly by huge sweet gums. They were magnificent in the fall.

Stunning! It's amazing what phone cameras are capable of nowadays, of course, with a very trained eye.

Ahhhh, Autumn.. real autumn. Something I missed the 15 years I was living in Andalucia.

Lovely photo of a lovely spot.
