I've never had it slip but I've always passed my treble strings through the roller hole twice with my nylon strings. The YouTube video I watched when I first started nylon strings recommended this and now it's just habit. Didn't you just put oil on your tuners recently too?? That could do it.....

If you are moving the peg, You need to determine if the gear is not turning (look at it), the roller is not turning (look at it) or if the string is just slipping. If the string is slipping, wrap it under two turns as you wind it up.

Yes I did just lube the gearing on all tuners, by wiping a Q-tip with one drop of Singer sewing machine oil.[:), now the Treble E string has slipped, this time the plastic peg knob slipped off the actual shaft. Inside the knob
there seems to be a hard plastic bushing, flatted as to fit onto the flatted shaft , now the culprit is cheap _ss tuners, going to take both sides off, and throw them away to get some nice Goths, it's amazing the junk they put on
on a good guitar to just make a sale.
TOTAL FRIGGIN JUNK !!! This is what came on the Juan Montes 146M Negra guitar.

Actually that looks like a fairly well made tuner. I suspect the problem was more with poor installation rather than cheap tuners. If the tuner is in a bind it can strip out no matter the quality.

Before losing your cool, remove the machines and observe how easily they slide into their holes. If they are poorly aligned, you can adjust the holes in the head with a stick wrapped with sandpaper. When they slide in and out easily, reassemble, put on the strings and see what happens.

This is a lot cheaper than new machines, but you should demonstrate that it is the machines at fault before buying new ones, or they might seem to have the same problem.
