My next project: 1909 Ramirez Flamenco

My next build will be based on this plan

http://www.crane.gr.jp/CRANE_etc/A009JoseRamirez/CRANE_JoseRamirez.pdf

Scaled up to 650 mm with cypress back and sides, spruce top, honduras mahogany neck, and indian rosewood fretboard.

It will be stained with Turkish coffee, on a vernica bianca treatment inside and outside. I am planning to base FP to seal with just a couple of layers this time, and actual varnish will be cooked amber varnish!

The back and top will be flat, but I am concerned with the strength with thinner plates. To prevent cracking I am planning to build a two layer sandwich with balsa glued at an angle inside of the top and back plates. I will use thinner braces too.

Any comments are wellcome

Cool good luck with that! Will you be sharing pictures? If you need any help this is a good place to be!

Thanks for the encouragement. I am really excited about it as each time there occurs a bunch of challanges to be solved. This time around it seems that the thinning of the sides down to 1.5 mm, and amber varnishing will be those that will be the hardest. I expect quite many surprises along the way :)

Of course I'll share the pictures as soon as I start building
