1980 Manuel Reyes for sale €8900 o...

Manuel Reyes (padre) needs little introduction. Since I know the members of this foro know their guitars, I’m going to keep it short.

Top: Spruce
Back and sides: Cypress
Bindings: Brazilian rosewood
Action at the 12th fret: 2,5 mm
Scale length: 660mm
Finish back and sides: French polish
Top: has been refinished somewhere in the past
Year:1980

Condition
Excellent. Their is just a barely visible hairline crack underneath the tapping plate. It’s impossible to capture it on camera. There is an occasional ding here and there, but the overal condition is absolutely excellent for a guitar of this vintage.

Sound
The trebbles are really sweet and lyrical. Not too much sustain, just the perfect amount for a flamenco guitar. The basses are snappy and punchy and very deep sounding. I’ve never experienced any guitar with such a low pitched bass as this one. This guitar is really LOUD and can easily compete with palmas and heavy dancing and singing without amplification.

Playability
It plays like butter, very easily without too much buzz. We all know easy playability is not always guaranteed with Reyes’ guitars.
