IMO Javier is the best technician in flamenco. I think the scalar run in the video below at 3:36 is his best. He decelerates a scale into an arpeggio. It's a great combination of artistry and technique. This sort of thing is impressive because so few people can conceive of it let alone execute it.

Javier Conde Alegrias

I have a DVD of his concert in Tokyo from 3 or 4 years ago. That performance features some of his best playing and some of the craziest technical displays I have ever witnessed. In the tarantas video posted the sound is too muddy to appreciate the full scale of Javier's virtuosity. In the DVD I have the sound is recorded professionally and it's scary what he can do with guitar.

My scales sound like that if I sped up my VLC program 3 notches... . Very humbling to say the least.... Not only is the speed ridiculous but the power he gets with that speed is unbelievable man...

Javier's hands are extremely big. I think it explains the power part somewhat. There is a lot of mass at play.

The run is actually at 4:58 & not 5:04 of the first video.
