Difference likes or dislikes rosewoo...

Would like your feedback, likes or dislikes of using either rosewood or ebony, or any other wood for your flamenco guitar?

I much prefer ebony over rosewood for the fret board. Wears better and, in my opinion, looks much nicer. Actually, I've never seen a flamenco guitar with a rosewood fret board, although I have seen and played classical guitars with it.

Hi!
I have a De La Chica flamenco blanca with a rosewood fretboard. Actually, rosewood was often used by the old time makers, particularly on their cheaper models, because it was lighter weight and cheaper.
Cheers,
Norman

I like rosewood when learning - it is softer to the touch. Now I also have an ebony and don't feel the difference so much anymore. My electrics are rosewood (Gibsons) or maple (Fenders).

In the flamenco/classical guitar world rosewood is seen(and is used) as a B grade wood for fretboards. It never offended me though, maybe because I came from the electric world where it's a little more accepted. Though usually the nicer electrics have ebony too.

Maple fretboard on a blanca, now that would be a real blanca haha

I actually like rosewood for fretboards. My favorite fretboard wood is African Blackwood - which is not cheaper and is actually harder than ebony on average. Heavy rosewoods like Amazon or campiceran are also good fretboard stuff, though they have bigger pores ime. When oiled they can get pretty dark and the stuff is much more stable than ebony regarding RH changes.

Just an opinion.
