Cool interview of Gerardo Nunez!

Cool interview I just found of Gerardo. He plays some Solea falsetas throughout, and a bit of Tanguillos in the 4th part. Does anyone know which guitar he's playing? The label is never seen clearly.

Enjoy!

I don't know the maker but I think it might be orange.

PS I watched this a few months ago and couldn't help wondering who is this fu@@er and why won't he let Gerardo practice in peace. ?

ooops sorry at a glance the similar head style and color. THis is in fact the famous "aluminum" guitar, by a serbian builder who died I guess?

I love reddish guitars.

Anyone knows if an orange guitar tends to turn red with time?

I thought it was Castillo too... the headstock is very similar... but this is the now famous "aluminum" guitar indeed!! There has been speculation about this being an old Esteso, but it does not look very old... might be wrong though.

Why do they call it the "aluminum" guitar?

Yeah, I saw that video about a year ago, but is it really an aluminium guitar? They say it is but I always thought it was a name they gave it, probably because it has some minor parts that are actually made of aluminium or maybe because it is so light. Most of it is made of wood, right?

And now you and Ricardo refered to it as the "aluminum" guitar. Why the quotation marks if it is really made of aluminium?

It's cypress, but I think that Anton refers to as "aluminum" because it's probably really light... it has thus been known as the aluminum guitar here on the Foro. I remember we had some long discussions here speculating who might be the builder... the obvious thing would be to quite simply ask Gerardo!!

That kind of looks like a Pedro Maldonado Andalucia Professional headstock.

You could ask Gerardo, but its easier just to read Ricardo's last post
