Quite the opposite of special. More of an aspiration.

Just kiddding, it's a dump, like Reading. Slough has been in Berkshire since 1974.

I spent a while teaching in Wokingham and Bracknell.

I hated it. The bright lights of Reading were a rare relief from those soulless bastions of keeping up with the Jones's.

Sample conversation from my time there.

MOTHER. 'I think little Johhny should be be going for his grade 3'..........
ME.............'Have you HEARD little Johhny ?'
MOTHER 'He is very bright, all his tutors say so'
ME 'And you PAY them ,,,,,right ?'

Maybe Gervais has got the right idea. Music is all about living the dream.

That has been me experience also Ed. I have not spent as much time with them as you but I found that staff more troubling and obstructive than the patients.

I am sure that the 'target' in this video is the character David Brent and his preconceptions and prejudices. I hope you weren't offended.
