record siguiriya with click or without? 
If i was to make a video of myself playing some sections of siguiriya so i could post and get advice. would I be better off using a compas track at a medium setting so that its clear in the track, or should I trust my own compas and let the letra sections breath, and include tempo changes

i intend to do a simple video, and just pretend i am listening to a singer and watching a dancer

If you want to post a video on the foro, you might prefer to use a click track. Because here, you´ll find lot of memebers that think that the slower flamenco palos should have a very strict rythm. And by using a click track and play square, you may avoid some of the "out of compás" comments from the compás police.

I wouldnt do so, because I dont agree... And my advice is to listen to what Moraito Chico says about the siguiriya compás in his encuentro video. The track where he accompanies Terremoto Hijo.

if its for getting advice use a compas track...if its an artistic solo u wanna show people do whatever u wanna do

thats nothing to do with "compas police" its just being practical...finding a general common ground...that both him and the dancer wont need to guess each others internal compas or do it blindly.. to be able to work togheder... if hes gonna play for dancers ...it needs to be very cuadrar...because they relie on that (and they not you, so they dont know how u are feeling the compas...might differ from how they feel it)...a good dancer has worked out her/his falseta perfectly to each beat and every offbeat....even if it seems like they not doing something for every single beat...they know exactly whats happening...and an early or delayed beat can throw them off completely..

compas is a language invented for a reason and when working with dancers its especially absolutely critical...and in the slower palos where there is a dancer especially... where they arent giving you every beat with their body-language its easier to stray off than say a bulerias


but in principal...i agree, in an intro or solo or in circumstances where u can...i like just pushing, pulling and dragging the compas a little here and there in seg, i think it gives it more expression....but i cant do it in a middle of a falseta a dancer has worked out to strict compas and relies on all the beats being spot on

I agree that it depends if you plan to play for dancers or as a solo. With the dancers you have to play in strict compas. Siguirilla can change pace a lot as a guitar solo and its one of the few palos where you can "stretch out" the compas.
Its not like bulerias where the phrasing has to be "square" with the compas. The guitarist has a lot of freedom with the rhythm. My experience (in Spain) has been that if someone is playing solo siguirilla and you keep palmas to it, you will get told to stop to let the player improvise with their phrasing.

Very simple answer... do both and cover all bases.
