broken in concert

Jesus Montoya & Jose Vega : playing with 5 strings! broke his 1st string in concert and kept going! how often does this happen? i know if one of my strings break in concert i would stop!

Awesome! I once saw Paco Pena have a string get loose and slip off a wooden peg while tuning during a concert. He just put it back on and made a joke about "Spanish technology."

I did a performance with two dancers a few weeks ago. I decided to use a capo that was like a jim donlop but a different brand. I made an upstroke during the solea por bulerias and the base string slipped up between the capo and edge of the neck, rendering it buzzy and useless. I couldn't stop and no one had noticed the string had popped up. It made my falsetas sound pretty crap and i lost concentration regarding the dance.

Making sure your capo is decent is another one to watch out for.

Still it was the best string to break por medio. He played standard chords and i dont know many places where the e string is useful por medio. It would be worse if the bass E string broke, or, much worse, the other strings. Another good point is that the string, if it breaks, usually falls down and the e string doesnt have adjacent strings in that direction.
