Vandalism

I had a gig today. When i returned to my car someone had snapped my windscreen wiper arm off They snapped it nice and low so i'll have to replace the entire arm. The remaining bit still moves when i switch them on.

Does anyone know roughly what i can expect to pay to fix it? I hope it's less than what i was paid for the gig.

I'm sorry about your car's windshield wiper arm being snapped off, but I must say that in the time it took you to detail it on the forum and ask members if they knew how much it would cost to replace it, you could have simply called your local auto repair garage or auto parts store and gotten the answer.

Cheers,

Bill

You could call a parts store, but the arm might only be available from a dealer that sells your make of car. It is common for people to replace the blade assembly so these can be purchased anywhere. The arm is usually held on by one nut. There might be a retractable cover over this nut that has to be moved to get to it. This is a very simple fix. Save on labor---get the parts and do it yourself.

If you're in California I'd say go to your local Pick n Pull and save some dough! They also have an interchange guide to see what other model cars might also fit your car.

Yes, I would have done exactly that but mechanics in brisbane only open weekdays and sometimes saturday morning. This happened saturday afternoon, so i have to wait until Monday. I also googled the parts to find out but could not find a price to have one replaced and installed. I just thought someone here may have had the same thing happen.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I will see if i can remove the broken one.
